Shaunee, of Nuuchahnulth origin from the Hupacasath and Tseshaht tribes near Port Alberni on Vancouver Island, is the head consultant for Tiichmis and is considered an expert in her field. |

After obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with Honours from the University of Victoria, Shaunee followed her work in nursing and community health education with high profile positions within the federal and provincial government. Experience with management, administration, and policy and program development gave her insight into how to make organizational systems more efficient and effective.
As Executive Director of the First Nations Chiefs' Health Committee, Shaunee oversaw all operations, including planning, policy development, training, and advising. She expanded operations and assisted in producing major reports on the health of Aboriginal people in BC.
In addition to executive level positions within non-profit organizations, including an Aboriginal Capital Corporation, Shaunee developed and taught award-winning curriculum on Aboriginal Health Care Systems and Aboriginal Health Policy and Research for the University of British Columbia.
Vancouver Community College, Cowichan Tribes, and UBC's Department of Family Medicine have found Shaunee to be very successful in creating health related programs for Aboriginal learners.
